Chen Zhongxu, President of the National Institute of Technical Standards of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Resources, stated that Wen Enshu, representative of the Consumer Safety Standards Research Institute, has been elected as the Chairman of the Consumer Policy Committee (COPOLCO) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). At this point, after Kim Jae woo, the president of the Consumer Citizen Organization, was elected in 2006, South Korea once again held an important position after 18 years.

COPOLCO is one of the three major policy development committees of ISO, with the participation of 132 member countries (79 formal member countries), established for policy consultation and development to enhance consumer rights in the field of standardization.

 

In this election, Moon Jae-in competed with experts from Sweden, but his work experience in consumer groups, government agencies and international institutions, as well as COPOLCO's Deputy Speaker ("22." 23. ") and Acting Speaker (" 24. ". In the first half of the year, he was elected after demonstrating his full strength as the next speaker through practice and other means.
