The National Technical Standards Institute of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Resources (President Chen Zhongxu, hereinafter referred to as the National Standards Institute) has invited a delegation of three representatives from the Uzbekistan Technical Restrictions Agency to South Korea to discuss the technical restrictions cooperation plan between the two institutions, and to visit the site of enterprises and testing and certification institutions to negotiate solutions to the trade technical barriers of Uzbekistan's export enterprises, in order to alleviate the trade technical barriers of Uzbekistan, a non member country of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Uzbekistan's trade volume with China reached a historic high last year (approximately 2.5 billion US dollars), and as an export market, the attention of enterprises is rapidly increasing. When the National Standards Institute introduced differential energy efficiency restrictions between imported and domestic household appliances in Uzbekistan last year, it dispatched a TBT rapid response team to the local area and negotiated with the Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy and the Technical Restriction Department to solve the export difficulties in China's household appliance industry.

In January of this year, Uzbekistan issued further measures to improve the productivity and export potential of the power industry, requiring imported household appliances to also obtain all exams and certificates in one institution. Therefore, due to difficulties faced by enterprises such as certificate issuance and customs clearance delays, the Uzbekistan delegation and the home appliance industry listened to detailed information on site and requested reasonable improvement of relevant measures. As a result, discussions and progress were made on the previous plan to issue exams and certificates according to the product, as well as the plan to issue a 3-year valid certificate when approved by the local factory in South Korea.
